The position manages all fundraising activities for events in a manner that positively demonstrates the values and mission of Boys & Girls Club to the public and achieves targeted fundraising goals each year. In addition, this position assists the Resource Development team with activities that include major donor cultivation, other development activities and database administration. This position will be responsible for providing extraordinary customer service to donors by managing the stewardship plan for event sponsors. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Institutional Philanthropy and serves as a key member of the Resource Development (RD) team, working collaboratively to expand donor engagement, retention, and long‑term philanthropic investment. Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities) Budget, plan, coordinate and execute special events such as fundraisers, galas, donor receptions and community outreach events. Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, staffing and audiovisual needs. Develop event timelines, budgets and marketing strategies to maximize attendance and fundraising outcomes. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of events. Coordinate and serve as liaison to all event committees. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors and key stakeholders through personalized communication and engagement strategies. Develop and implement stewardship plans to recognize and appreciate donors for their contributions and support. Provide excellent customer service to donors, addressing inquiries, requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Keep accurate records of donor interactions and contributions. Work closely with the development team to identify fundraising opportunities and incorporate them into event planning and donor engagement strategies. Collaborate on the creation of sponsorship packages and fundraising appeals to secure financial support for events and programs. Track and report on event metrics, including attendance, revenue and expenses, to assess the success of fundraising efforts. Represent the organization at community events, networking functions and donor meetings to promote awareness and support for our mission. Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership with other nonprofits, businesses and community organizations to enhance our impact and reach. Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets to secure coverage of events and initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university 3 years minimum experience effectively managing events for a nonprofit organization Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail Must be able to take initiative, be self‑motivated, and function both independently and in a team environment. Must be able to make decisions and maintain professional and open communication Experience with CRM systems Customer and outcomes‑driven focus Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups including employees, Management, Board, donors, community and stakeholders. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact with diverse groups Project management skills and the ability to work in fast paced situations while effectively multitasking competing priorities.
