About The Position Oversees a smooth running of the farm by implementing various methods of planting techniques and maintaining farm equipment for the purpose of producing high-quality produce for our guests, staff, and customers. What you will be doing Deciding on the type, quality, and quantity of the crops to be planted. Preparing plans for the mode of harvest, harvesting schedules, and collaborating with campus manager for carrying out these activities. Budgeting the farm management and accomplishing the farm activities within a planned budget. Purchasing farm supplies such as soil amendments and seeds. Ability to use compost, manure, and organic materials to improve crops. Water the plants and nursery when necessary. Supply excess produce to LSC kitchen, as well as Country Life restaurant and store. What you need A well informed and experienced farmer with the ability to grow foods; use computer, purchase and order farm tools. Good communication skills. Experience in leading multi-cultural teams. Strong commitment to the values of our institution. A teacher and instructor. Special Demands Long hours on feet. Occasional heavy lifting.
