Vice President, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance (Remote with monthly travel to Bay Area HQ and work PST hours) Base pay range $380,000.00/yr - $420,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus, RSUs, and Stock options Overview We are partnering with an innovative, well-backed clinical-stage biotech company focused on rare diseases with significant unmet need. As the organization advances toward potential commercialization of its lead program, they are seeking a Vice President, Head of Drug Safety to lead, scale, and oversee the global pharmacovigilance function. This is a high-impact, senior leadership role reporting directly into the executive team, with full ownership of medical safety and PV operations across clinical and post‑marketing programs. Key Responsibilities Build and lead the global Drug Safety organization Oversee all aspects of pharmacovigilance, including safety strategy, case processing, signal detection, and risk management Provide medical review and benefit–risk assessments across the product lifecycle Serve as the company’s safety expert in interactions with regulatory authorities Collaborate cross‑functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams Ensure full compliance with global safety regulations and internal SOPs Qualifications Proven track record in global pharmacovigilance leadership roles across both development and post‑marketing Minimum 2+ years in an executive‑level role (Exec Director, VP, SVP/Head of DSPV) People management experience required , including building and developing high‑performing teams Experience working within a small sponsor biotech environment required Deep understanding of medical safety and PV operations Experience leading safety strategy in rare disease, neurology, or endocrine therapeutic areas is a plus Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, hands‑on biotech environment Seniority Level Executive Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Science, Research, and Management Industries Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Biotechnology Research #J-18808-Ljbffr Meet Life Sciences
