Director of Water/Wastewater Management Phoenix

JOB DESCRIPTION Lead, manage the Water/Wastewater Department, overseeing a team of approximately 6-8 engineers and technical staff
Serve as a senior technical leader, providing guidance and quality oversight across projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal and private clients, as well as local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
Represent the firm through effective presentations to city councils, community groups, and selection committees
Drive marketing and business development initiatives to grow the department, working closely with the Business Development Director and President
Supervise staff performance, including hiring, coaching, and conducting performance reviews
Define project scopes, develop schedules and work plans, and identify required subconsultants
Prepare and negotiate fee proposals
Maintain and expand existing client relationships while developing new business opportunities
Ensure accurate project documentation for both client and internal purposes
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or higher) from an accredited institution or similar field
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is desired; Out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain licensure within six months
At least 12-15+ years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 8 years in project management within the Water/Wastewater Management industry
Demonstrated experience and track record of delivering municipal water and wastewater projects
Experience with both municipal and private-sector markets would be ideal
Experience out of a Civil/Consulting Firm is preferred
Strong local market knowledge with established client relationships in the Phoenix metro area is preferred
Experience managing and developing engineering teams is preferred
